L.
This is the espn shot chart for the first half of the third quarter of tonight's game. See all those little blue circles around the basket on the right side? Those are shots the Warriors made. See all those x's? (Well, ok, I guess there's three of them.) Those are their misses.
Incidentally, a really bizarre stat: the Mavericks utterly and thoroughly dominated the Warriors on the boards tonight, 50-28. For the game, Dallas pulled down almost as many rebounds of their own shots (20) as the Warriors did (23), and on the Warriors' end Dallas outrebounded them 30-5. That was about the only thing Dallas did well tonight.
See the comments for the chat a couple of us had during the game.

Wow. The warriors have *eight* guys right now shooting 50% or better for the game. 48-35 Warriors.
I've been listening to the TV while I work on my tax return. It looks like GS is feeling pretty good about themselves. It feels like this just might be the team that we don't match up well against.
Croshere just went in for Damp...this isn't looking good!
i knew this game might be trouble for us. they always give us trouble. we don't look very sharp. anyone know what is wrong with Howard?
Did you see how Dallas has lost three straight, going back to last season, in Golden State?
From the box score, it looks like Dallas is rebounding really well (always a good sign), but they're getting a ton of turnovers and can't make the Warriors miss a shot.
Maybe it'll turn around when *someone* on Golden state goes cold.
three fouls on Dirk...not good. I think it's Don Nelson's mission to beat the Mavs just to spite Mark Cuban.
by the way, I hate the Warrior uniforms. And they're wearing them for a whole month...yikes.
How is this for a crazy stat: On Dallas’ end of the court, they have outrebounded Golden State 12-10. On the Warriors’ end of the coure, Dallas has outrebounded them 17-1.
Four of the Mavericks’ five starters have at least two offensive rebounds.
I wonder how often it happens that one team so completely out-hustles the other for a half, and yet ends the half with a double-digit deficit.
things are getting worse...are we approaching our worst game for turnovers this season?
it will be interesting to see if my comment yesterday turns out to be a prophecy. I asked when the last time was that we trailed by 27 points in a game. that could be tonight at this pace.
Another question would be: when was the last time Dallas allowed three consecutive 30-point quarters? ’Cause they’re well on their way to that.
scott, it's probably a good that you aren't watching this game on t.v. It is really bad. like that steal that GS just got when we pulled down the defensive rebound. this is foul. very foul.
Twenty-seven points! yeah!
I just put an image on the main post of the shot chart for the first half of the third quarter. Notice all the blue circles overlapping one another right by the basket.
Hey, if we're gonna lose a game, we're going to freaking lose the game.
could it get to forty? we can shoot anymore either. and how many offensive fouls is that on us already? this is ridiculous. i guess Hollinger will have us about 4th or 5th considering the margin of victory.
oh, apparently we can't rebound anymore either.
98 points after three quarters. wow.
I'm imagining the Oregel quote: “Nelson’s teams’ll do that to ya.”
no, but about three times during the first half, after a two different foul calls and after devin harris got knocked down, Ortegel said, "Now, this ought to get the Mavs going." I'm waiting for him to say it again now in the fourth.
When I say we can't guard anyone this game, I mean we can't guard anyone. Through three quarters, Baron Davis (4/10 FG) is having the worst shooting night of any Warrior who's taken a shot. Here's the line for the whole Warriors team, points following by field goals:
Al Harrington: 16 (5/5)
Stephen Jackson: 16 (6/10)
Andris Biedrins: 14 (7/7)
Jason Richardson: 14 (5/10)
Mickael Pietrus: 12 (4/6)
Matt Barnes: 9 (2/4)
Baron Davis: 9 (4/10)
Monta Ellis: 8 (4/8)
ooh... this is scary: Golden State is 1 1/2 games out of the last playoff spot. Imagine the nightmare for the Mavs of having to play this team in the first round of the playoffs.
At least we'll have home-court advantage.
With Mensah-Bonsu in, does that mean we've officially thrown in the towel?
Umm.....
Uh oh! It's down to 23...
Barea for three! All we need now is Mensah-Bonsu to get some points. I just like hearing the commentators say his name.
Hilarious! I just realized his first name is Pops. Awesome. I hope he becomes a starter.
That was ugly. You know its bad when you choose to do your taxes instead of watching the game.
Bring on the Suns!
